St Bede’s Catholic School and Sixth Form College is a co-educational Catholic Academy which provides for the education needs of 11-18 year old pupils from North West Durham. St Bede’s is looking for an outstanding leader to join its successful leadership team at Deputy Head level. This position will play a significant role in shaping the strategic direction of the school and working with the Trust to improve outcomes for all. The successful candidate will lead the Pastoral and Safeguarding work of the school.
We are looking for a leader who is dynamic, innovative and determined with a proven track record of successful leadership. The successful candidate will have the ambition, drive and expertise to ensure that St Bede’s continues to thrive as a Catholic Community which provides excellent learning opportunities, educates the “whole child” and helps to achieve social justice in the community it serves.

The remit of the post is to lead the Pastoral and Safeguarding work of the school. However, exact roles and responsibilities will be agreed with the successful candidate as part of a review of strengths and experience to date. It is however desired that applicants have a range of experience across a number of school leadership roles with evidence of impact.
